Rissband SK

Bituminous profile strip for fast and cost-effective repair of damage to asphalt roads. A proven material with plastic qualities and with a self-adhesive layer that ensures optimum substrate adhesion.

Uses

Rissband SK is mainly used for covering cracks and open seams and joints in asphalt surfaces. The maximum width of the cracks should not exceed 5 mm. It can be laid quickly and reliably, as it has an adhesive layer. Small areas of damage can be permanently sealed, as due to its plastic qualities Rissband SK is rolled in. 

Application guidelines

The asphalt surface must be clean and dry. A primer (TOK®-Primer SK) is not absolutely essential, but will improve adhesion. A primer is particularly recommended for very worn surfaces. Rissband SK is placed on the crack, pressed into position and rolled in by the Rissband SK Roller and later by traffic load. In certain circumstances it can be advantageous to sand the Rissband SK after laying. This applies for example to laying in high temperatures. The ambient air temperature and material temperature must be above 15° C. Special measures are necessary at lower temperatures, for example warming with a gas flame. Rissband SK is not suited to the filling of seams and joints. Here, the minimum requirement for profile thickness according to ZTV Fug-StB 01 (Zusätzliche Technische Vertragsbedingungen und Richtlinien für Fugen in Verkehrsflächen - German Additional Technical Contractual Conditions and Directives for Joints in Traffic Surfaces) is at least 10 mm.
