Primer & mastic for BUTYLEN tapes and tape systems
BUTYLEN Primers and BUTYLEN Mastic are butyl rubber based products.
A primer is essential for BUTYLEN tape systems. BUTYLEN Primer clearly improves adhesion to metallic surfaces. Using the tape system without a primer will not meet industry standard requirements.
BUTYLEN Primers consist of butyl rubber and unsaponifiable resins in petroleum spirit. BUTYLEN Primer HT, HT25 and MT25 differ in the temperatures for their intended use. For European climate conditions, BUTYLEN Primer HT is to be used.
BUTYLEN-Mastic WP and Mastic W are used as fillers in combination with BUTYLEN tape systems. These permanently plastic, hand shapeable butyl rubber fillers allow uneven places in metal surfaces to be filled and then wrapped void-free using BUTYLEN tape systems.
